NEW YEARS EVE LOOK

What I've realized most over the last year is that I'm definitely less of a party girl than I used to be. Offer me a night in with a Netflix marathon and a glass of wine and I'll take you up on it any time. I've been to one New Years Eve party in my day, and never to a bar. It's always been nights in and board games with friends—just how I like it. I hope that this year is the same. Even though I'll likely be staying in, there's no reason to not look a little dressed up. Below is my perfect New Years Eve look. It's cozy with a touch of elegance.

Wilfred Montpellier Sweater, Aritzia // Tasha Legging, Club Monaco // Clutch, Zara

I'm admittedly not very good at doing my nails. I love the process and the pampering, but I always seem to lack the patience to wait for it to dry and inevitably end up smudging it. Can't blame a girl for trying though. My polish collection is always growing, and I've found a love for Julep products. They dry incredibly quickly (the major selling point for me), have a huge assortment of colors, and the pigment is great. My New Years Eve look will be accompanied by the Julep look featured below, likely in a purple like Jessie as opposed to red. Let me know in the comments what you'll be wearing and doing for New Years Eve, and also if you give the tutorial a try!

WEEKEND LINKS

Hooray! Exams are FINALLY done and it's now time to get into the Christmas spirit. I can not even begin to tell you how excited I am. I somehow manage to always have exams on the first day and one of the last days, meaning that everyone is already done by the time I am. Tomorrow I'll be braving the mall to hopefully finish my Christmas shopping, and on Saturday I'll be doing the bulk of my holiday baking. There's some really good stuff being made this year!

The never-ending bang conflict. Guess it's time to cut 'em...
10 painfully obvious truths everyone forgets too soon.
The perfect breakfast for Christmas morning.
Quite possibly the cutest kids ever.
I could go for a peppermint mocha right about now.
... Or a big glass of nog. Vegan eggnog?
I've gotten really into beauty bloggers lately, and Essiebutton tops the list.

THE HOLIDAY PLAYLIST

8 days. 8 freaking days until Christmas. Can you believe it? I hardly can. I am usually very ready to go at this point, but this year that is just not the case. I will hopefully have my shopping done by Friday, and then the baking will begin on Saturday. My energy has been focused on exams (my last is tomorrow—so ridiculously late this year) and the move. Admittedly more so the move at this point. I'm excited to veg for a few days, that's for sure. Since 2008, I've put out a holiday mix for my friends in addition to their Christmas present. Last year didn't happen because my new computer doesn't even come with a disc drive, and this year I've decided to do it online for everyone!

HOLIDAY PARTY STYLE

Tis the season for holiday parties. It's not often that I have the opportunity to get dressed up for much of anything, so I am taking full advantage of the holiday season. Black is my go-to on any regular day, but I think all black is extra chic, especially with a hint of sparkle or a bold red lip. What are you wearing for holiday parties?

CHRISTMAS WISH LIST

Wishlist
There are 23 days until Christmas. 23! That's nuts. I don't know about you, but the holidays have taken me by surprise this year. At this point, I am usually full force in the kitchen testing out recipes for holiday baking and have my annual holiday mix made. Not so much this year. I am on my last week of school before exams and am scrambling to get final assignments in. Not only that, but I'm also in the midst of packing up my belongings to move out in less than three weeks! It's a big month, for sure.

The above are some things on my Christmas wish list this year!
1. West Elm Rustic Bar Stools
2. Old Faithful Shop Edison Lamp

6. Wilfred Diamond Mosaic Blanket in Balsamine
